While I may have noticed it a little late, it seems that the people working on the Cassini mission to Saturn are still aware of how life was found to imitate art out near the rings: a picture of Mimas was captioned Rebel Base In Range. To be sure, it's at such a long range that it's just barely possible to make out Herschel crater...
