Despite it having been a mission of considerable length, not that many posts seem to separate my acknowledgment of the launch of space shuttle Endeavour and this mention of its safe landing. As it turned out, while the landing was happening I was off at the monthly meeting of my local computer users' group; I suppose it was regrettable the two events coincided.

During my best efforts to follow the mission, I noticed what seemed to be a sticky moment nervously like one of "those" "they didn't think about testing the plug matches the socket" developments trying to power up Dextre the "Canadahand," but it seemed to work out in the end. I also noticed that the heat shield inspection boom was left behind on the space station to make room for the next piece of the Japanese space lab on the way up next time, which left me wondering if there's only one of them before I decided the news doesn't mean anything one way or another. In any case, the mission sent back a new set of interesting pictures.
