Anime News: "Holy Cats!"

From the moment I first started contemplating making this post, I could imagine the people who would see it (and its icon) on their friends lists rolling their eyes and asking "Good grief, another anime-related post?" However, it does follow up on a point I made yesterday... the North American distribution rights for the titles from ADV that had become "suspended indefinitely," and the rights to basically everything else they've licensed in the last while, have been transferred to Funimation.

Again, it feels like big news, but it did seem to me that in reading through possibly too many message board posts that people are reacting more ambiguously than the glee of before. With the Geneon titles, I suppose, it had all seemed an "amazing resurrection" after long months of no news, but here it could seem a little bit like snatching things away from a troubling company... and, I also suppose, it's possible to connect maunderings about personal "backlogs" with the thought of there now being many, many series to release at whatever rate, hopefully one that won't cause the company problems.
