The Fourth Once Again
May. 4th, 2010 05:45 pmI was reading the entertainment section of my newspaper this morning (with its feature article of an alphabetized list of complaints about the final season of "Lost") when I noticed a small article inside it proclaiming today "Star Wars Day." Of course, I knew about people saying "May the Fourth be with you," and I can think back to reading "Once Upon A Galaxy" and noticing that get mentioned in the context of Margaret Thatcher winning the British general election back in 1979 (nine years ahead of the earliest date mentioned in the Wikipedia article)... it still surprises me when it gets "mainstream," though. Beyond that, though, the little article's smattering of trivia mentioned how the stormtroopers all seem to be left-handed for the "real-world" reason that their blasters have "ammunition magazines" on the left side, and that got me wondering if the computer-animated clonetroopers also carry their guns in their left hands. It just might be a clue in the "story world" as to whether the two groups are still connected... and, having moved from detached observer to involved commentator, I suppose I should close.
