To finish the year off, I'm going back to the first sentence of the first post for each month. It was in this year that the numbering on my posts passed the six-digit mark, and I suppose that does mean just a little to me.

January: It's winter out there, and perhaps that helped me make a decision.

February: Although I don't check out the official Star Wars site all that often, a three-part article on the "pre-release publicity" for the original movie caught my attention.

March: As an interlude of sorts in between rewatching the anime series that happened to have been made parts of Robotech, I steeped myself that much more fully in the indulgent nostalgia this whole experiment might well boil down to and watched not an integral predecessor to one Saturday morning cartoon from the 1980s but a tragic, fragmentary follow-up to it.

April: Perhaps in part due to "The Home Page Forums" being in what seems an unfortunate state of hibernation, I just couldn't seem to hit on any fresh ideas for a little jape I had indulged in each April 1st for the last few years on that message board, to think up a glimpse from some "alternative reality" where Star Wars is unlike what we know (and yet still similar at the core, at least to my own conviction).

May: Although unequipped with a "video game console" of any description, I did get "LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy" to play on my computer for a Christmas present.

June: Another "sea day" has arrived at last and I've had the time to think about making another post.

July: With another three months passed, I'm once more looking back at all the anime I watched during them.

August: The latest episode I watched out of the latest Mystery Science Theater 3000 set might be seen as the "odd one out": it's in (often dark, murky, and hard to see) colour where the others are in black and white, and from the 1980s where the others are from the 1950s.

September: It's been a pretty busy few days so far as news from the entertainment industry: first, everyone heard that Disney is buying Marvel; then, some heard that the Japanese publishing company Kodansha had dropped all of its manga licenses with the American distributing company Tokyopop; and now, some others have heard that the American anime distributing company ADV Films has been parcelled out among many different companies with somewhat odd names.

October: With another three months gone by, once again I'm looking back at the anime I managed to watch in them.

November: As it turns out, it wasn't long at all after getting the sixth Dark Horse volume reprinting the old Marvel Star Wars comics that I got the seventh and final volume.

December: Not that long ago, I got the seventh and final paperback reprinting the old Marvel Star Wars comics.

First of all, some of my first sentences can get kind of long. Beyond that, I managed to make just one clear reference to Mystery Science Theater 3000, quite a few more references to Star Wars, one mention of the vacation I went on, and some references to anime beyond my "quarterly summaries."

See you in the new year, and let's see what we can do to make the next ten years better.
