Mystery Science Theater Surprise

It seems I might not be checking Satellite News as often as I could be. With the idle thought that it was getting about time for another weekly episode discussion, I went to that site today only to see news a few days old with a great number of comments. It seems that Shout! Factory is planning to release a Blu-Ray of Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, which made me remember how when the previous uncomplicated DVD was released (which was at least better than the videotape I bought from a local rental place's selling-off rack), people were complaining this would keep a really nice version from being released.
The new release is promised to include a documentary not just about This Island Earth but also about the making of the Mystery Science Theater movie. In the "twentieth anniversary collection," to be sure, the "Best Brains" did seem to be encouraging the inclinations of some to see the movie as compromised by studio interference. For my own part, though, I can manage to remember how I'd got my grandparents to tape it off their movie channel (it was, bless them anyway, a bit confusing for them) to finally be able to see and hear characters who'd been almost interchangeable voices in MSTings before that.
