Ink on the Ice (Impending)

When it comes to watching sports anime, it’s helped that I’m interested in “the idea of baseball.” So far as another “idea” I’m interested in if only in the ultimate end through my nationality goes, though, I have wondered whether there’ll ever be a “hockey anime.” I once saw a “hockey manga” linked off the front page of Wikipedia, but supposed it hadn’t been licensed for translation into English yet; another title had been licensed years ago, but I understood it to be a “field hockey” manga.

Just today, however, I was taking my regular look at the Anime News Network when I saw an announcement of an “ice hockey anime,” and not just that but a “girls’ ice hockey anime.” The question, of course, is how “Pride of Orange” will turn out, having skipped a “girls’ baseball anime” earlier this year on hearsay it wound up looking pretty crummy. Still, first bursts of excitement are cheap enough.
