MST3K 305: Stranded in Space
Jan. 19th, 2010 06:21 pmStill intent on watching my way through the fifth episode of each season of Mystery Science Theater 3000 before "Blood Waters of Dr. Z" is officially released to round out that group, I've pushed on to the third season. In the show's official episode guide, Frank Conniff commented that "Stranded in Space" was "the forgotten MST3K episode," and I suppose that compared to the episodes that preceded it this pilot for a series that never got made isn't as hilariously inept as "Cave Dwellers," as brazen a shoddy ripoff as "Pod People," or leading off a bizarre yet memorable series the way "Gamera" and "Gamera vs. Barugon" do. Still, there are indeed some odd moments to it, and they add up to something that might reward thinking about after all.
