And Now, a Landing

After posting that space shuttle Discovery didn't land, I can now post that it did (if in California). As it was afternoon there but evening here, I was able to watch the official coverage by streaming video as the landing track crossed the Pacific coast and the tracking cameras started picking the vehicle out through the clouds; remembering the pictures of the very first landings on the dry lake bed, though, it still seems a little strange to see scrubby growth next to the runway. That's one more mission over, and not many left.
