A Comic Con Surprise

In casually keeping up with the news from Comic Con, I noticed something (first seen mentioned "off-topic" on an anime message board, no less) that did manage to surprise and amuse me, yet in a peculiar way: there's going to be an official printed edition of "Garfield minus Garfield." It's perhaps a little bit awkward to admit I've glanced at that online venture where everyone but Jon Arbuckle is removed from the Garfield comic strips to leave him muttering into the void, and yet it doesn't seem quite so mean-spirited as certain other "subtractionist" works; nor does it seem as nasty as those constantly complaining about "For Better or For Worse." In any case, the official acknowledgment, just perhaps "defusing" through acceptance, was enough to draw this amused comment out of me.
