The best news I've heard for a while...
Feb. 27th, 2008 06:17 pm...for a certain definition of "good news," of course.
Back at the end of last month, I posted about how one North American anime company, ADV Films, took all of its latest titles off its web site, and about the panicked reactions to that. At the time, my reaction was "let's not panic," and yet as the days stretched into weeks, I suppose I found myself sort of aligning myself to the grim possibility that this could be it; another anime company was about to go out of business, its licenses revoked by uncaring Japanese companies...
Then, just yesterday, I saw news that ADV had relisted many of its most recent titles. It's true that one particular series I was particularly interested in getting isn't on that list, but a movie I'd also ordered was... there may still be uncertainty in the future, but there's at least movement forward and a bit of positive light there too for now.
