MST3K 402: The Giant Gila Monster
Feb. 10th, 2008 09:15 amWhen I heard that the tenth collected volume of Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVDs was being reissued with "Godzilla versus Megalon" replaced by "The Giant Gila Monster," I suppose my reaction amounted to a strange mildness, aware that it was more or less an inconvenience for some including me to have to "rebuy" three DVDs to get one new one, but finally concluding that there were people who had never had the chance to be faced with my "dilemma" and that getting upset about it wouldn't do any good. Then, I heard that "The Giant Gila Monster" would be available as a stand-alone release exclusively through the official "Rhino" web site. My first thought was to wonder if I would even be able to have it shipped to where I live, and I put in a preorder for the complete "10.2" set. Then, very shortly afterwards, I discovered that it did seem possible to put in an order for the single disc, and I did that as well. I started wondering if I ought to cancel my first preorder, but put it off just perhaps because of an awareness that this would be the final Mystery Science Theater release from Rhino... which seems to amount to spending money for "peace of mind." In any case, the full set shipped a little before I thought it would, and before the single disc.
