Mystery Science Theater on the Move
Jan. 24th, 2008 08:12 pmMystery Science Theater 3000 news is coming thick and fast again: just days after the seemingly quite sound rumours of its own movie returning to DVD, I saw a post about how its DVD license is being moved from Rhino Home Video to "Shout! Factory." While I'm not especially familiar with that company myself, I've heard that it helped release the "Film Crew," Michael Nelson's (and Kevin Murphy's and Bill Corbett's) own post-series experiment along the lines of Joel Hodgson's (and Trace Beaulieu's and Frank Coniff's and Mary Jo Pehl's and J. Elvis Weinstein's) "Cinematic Titanic." (Although I could buy Film Crew DVDs if I wanted to, right now... whereas Cinematic Titanic's distributor can't ship to where I live at the moment.) For me at least, Rhino seemed to have been making fair efforts to keep licensing episodes to go on DVD, but I suppose I'm as willing to wait and see what happens as anyone.
