Calendars for Cheap
Jan. 5th, 2008 05:40 pmIt's only five days into the new year, but the calendars stacked up in the local malls over the past month or so are already being sold off at half price. Normally, I still continue to assume I can get by without a wall calendar, but for some reason today I decided to splurge on a "The Art of Star Wars" calendar. Perhaps it was the promise of a DVD with trailers on it that sealed the deal for me.
On looking at the calendar itself, I started thinking that some of the pieces of art, especially the works by Tsuneo Sanda, were more interesting than others. For that matter, I would have been more interested to have seen some of the pieces reproduced in miniature on the front cover inside than some of the pieces that did make it in there... Still, the pieces that I do like, I like a good bit. It's also interesting to have a DVD with trailers from all the Star Wars movies... although the introductory menu seems to have been authored in about five seconds. Of course, it doesn't do any good to do nothing but complain.
