Iapetus Follow-up
Sep. 15th, 2007 06:50 pmThe latest pictures from Saturn keep being processed and presented to the world, and they can be pretty impressive. Via the Bad Astronomy weblog, I discovered a composite image of the light side of Iapetus, which more or less complements the one of the dark side that was released several flybys earlier. Then, I saw that the Astronomy Picture of the Day was a 3-D image of the moon's mysterious equatorial mountain ridge. Having mentioned before one of Iapetus's appearances in fiction, I was also interested to see that Arthur C. Clarke has recorded a video greeting to stay in on the game.
