Another happy landing

Even though I was traveling back home for my Christmas vacation, I managed to keep up with the news enough to hear that the space shuttle Discovery completed its own voyage back home. I managed to be surprised on hearing that it had sneaked through the bad weather and landed in Florida; just perhaps, I took a trace of pointless interest in the suggestion that a space shuttle might land at White Sands for only the second time in the program's history.
