Over just the past few weeks, there's been a great deal of excitement on astronomy sites about the fabulously bright Comet McNaught. Unfortunately, through a combination of grey, cloudy days and a certain ambiguous difficulty in forcing myself to add new things to my routine, I didn't get out and try to see it myself. Even so, given the number of astronomical objects that people talk about following through distant remote-controlled cameras (which I do some of myself), it's somehow a little heartening for me to hear about people seeking eyesight experience of things out in space.
