As another year comes to an end, once more I'm trying to summarize it by taking the first sentence from the first post for each month from this journal. This year, of course, was the one I finished my project of rewatching all the episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000, the project that kept me posting to this journal on a regular basis. I suppose that in the weeks since then, I've still managed to keep posting, but anything could happen in the future.

January: In my pastime of fooling around with emulator programs of various old microcomputers, I took notice of a new program under development that emulates not just the hardware but the old-fashioned monitors they were connected to.

February: Although I do sort of chide myself about just reading about "interactive fiction" a lot more than actually buckling down to playing it, I do pick up things about it even in that.

March: The fourth season of Clone Wars seems to be concentrating on "action" pure and simple, and for the most part this seems to have agreed with the fans whose opinions I do follow.

April: Opening up the latest Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD collection, I also moved one season ahead into the series with "King Dinosaur."

May: When I put together my latest look back at the anime I'd seen in the three months before, I neglected to mention one particular series I'd already started into.

June: After entering the "Mike era" of Mystery Science Theater 3000 by rewatching "Code Name Diamond Head" from the latest official DVD collection, I finished off the collection with "Last of the Wild Horses."

July: These regular looks back at the anime I watched in the past three months can also provoke looks forward.

August: Although I knew the latest DVD collection of Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes is starting to ship out to anxious fans (and was waiting for my own set to arrive), I might not have been dwelling to any great extent on the thought "the titles for the next collection usually get announced around now"... until I decided to check "Satellite News" and, altogether without having expected it, I was looking at the titles for the next collection.

September: I've made it back from my two weeks of vacation, and after a day off to try and recover from the jet lag I'm getting around to uploading a few more pictures and making a proper post of them.

October: Heading off on vacation in the past three months did give me a chance to take a break not just from work but from the pastime of watching anime DVDs.

November: A sort of intuitive feeling made me decide a while ago to save "12 to the Moon" ("Doughnuts?") for towards the very end of this long project of rewatching and commenting on the episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

December: In a random sort of mood, I was following links from my bookmarks when I found something I hadn't been looking for.

See you in the new year!
