I totally get where you're coming from on the "inevitability". I love Padme dearly, and knowing that we're coming to her split from her husband and her death just stinks.
Ashoka remains a big question; namely, what she's going to do between the end of the show and RotS, and there's no question it HAS to have something to do with Anakin. I'd never guessed she might leave, but before, she was always so eager to please him, and now...if she scorns him, it would explain why we don't see her in RotS, and why no one mentions her (Anakin would be furious, and no one else would want to hurt him by mentioning her).
